Oscar van Gelderen (1965) is formerly known as publisher at Lebowski Publishers, in Amsterdam. He retired from the publishing business in December 2020, but will rise again soon. During his 25 year career as a publisher (at Vassallucci, Rothschild & Bach, Lebowski) he published a mix of international and Dutch fiction and non-fiction, had a knack for rediscoveries (Stoner!) and loved cult books. Some of the international authors he published are Niccolò Ammaniti, Lucia Berlin, Roberto Bolaño, Werner Bräunig, Emma Cline, Philip K. Dick, Dave Eggers, David Sedaris, Robert Walser and John Williams.
He published two books: ‘Wij hebben altijd gelijk’ (co-written with Khalid Boudou and published by Querido in 2009) and ‘Ontroerend goed’ (co-written with Manuela Klerkx and published by Meulenhoff in 2018).
